You’re not failing. You’re just stuck in the noise.

Therapy for millennials doing all the things… and still wondering, ‘Is this it?

You’ve been showing up, working hard, ticking the boxes – career, relationships, self-care, whatever wellness trend is hot this month. But somewhere between the to-do lists and the late-night scrolling, you’ve started feeling… off. Stuck. Maybe even a little lost.

It’s that hamster-wheel feeling: you’re running flat out, juggling everything but you’re not sure where it’s all going – or if you even want to end up there. And that voice in your head? The one that says You should be further along by now? It’s exhausting.

You’re not broken, lazy or behind. You’re at a turning point.

This is where we figure out what’s next – together.

About me

I’m Amita, an experienced, qualified and registered psychotherapist with practices in Baker Street, City of London and Ruislip. Since 2010, I’ve dedicated my working life to supporting people like you – people who are smart, self-aware and maybe just a little tired of ‘pushing through’ – to figure out what they really want from life.

My approach is simple, warm, collaborative and down-to-earth. I’m not the silent, nodding therapist stereotype. I’ll be right there with you in the work, offering tools, perspective and sometimes a gentle challenge when you need it.

Whether you’re experiencing low mood, anxiety, depression or that vague, restless ‘there’s more to life than this’ feeling, you’re in the right place.

What can I help you with?

In a world which can sometimes be overwhelming and challenging working on our mental maintenance is vital to surviving what we go through in life.

Panic attacks, tiredness, lack of concentration or focus, and poor sleep are physical symptoms associated with our mental health and all of these get in the way of you going about your daily life with purpose and energy, preventing you from being your best.

This leads to patterns of behaviour and negative thoughts that keep us back from being able to grow, both personally and professionally which can be overwhelming or difficult to face.

Frequently asked questions

Beginning therapy can feel daunting and you may have questions about how it all works. Here are the answers to the questions that I get asked the most – please do get in touch if you have a question that isn’t answered here. I’d love to put your mind at ease.

A typical session lasts 50 minutes. Having said that, I am happy to work around you and your current situation. When we first meet, we can talk through your needs and how we might meet them. Some people need a weekly one-hour session while others need longer and/or more intensive sessions designed around work and travel commitments. My aim is always to help each client find what’s right.

The therapy room is a safe space and I will treat everything you tell me as confidential. The only exception to this is if there is concern of a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else. If I felt that this was the case, I would always try to speak to you about it first. Please be reassured that this is extremely rare. You might also find it reassuring that it means that I am working in accordance with the guidelines of my professional body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Yes – I offer appointments during the day, in the evening and on Saturdays. Evening appointments do tend to be the most popular but I will always try to accommodate your requirements given your availability.

This is a really good question! It very much depends on what brings you to counselling. Clients who are very clear about why they are coming and what they need may find that six to eight sessions are enough. Other clients prefer a different pace, taking longer to find what they need from counselling. Either way, we’ll begin by talking through your needs and whether you’d prefer short or longer-term therapy. It’s always your choice about how many sessions you want – I’m led by you.
